Is this Asbestos?
While there are some building components that we can say most definitely will contain Asbestos, some building materials may require testing to know for sure. Asbestos was an incredibly popular component of many building materials due to its versatility, durability, and heat tolerance properties and was used in everything from siding, floor tile, insulation, and even and plaster. We are happy to take a look at your concerns and assist you in addressing any Asbestos hazards that you may have in your home. Find out more about where Asbestos can commonly be found.
Does Asbestos Abatement require special training or licensing?
Yes! Due to the high risks involved, the State of Pennsylvania requires specialized training and licensing for all Asbestos Abatement Contractors. If your contractor does not carry this licensing, they cannot legally or properly perform Asbestos Abatement. Disaster Blaster is very proud to be properly licensed and insured to perform Asbestos Abatement services.
Is there testing available?
Yes, lab testing is able to determine if a building material contains Asbestos. While we are happy to assist you in getting a test completed by a laboratory specializing in this service, we do not ourselves perform testing, as that is viewed as a conflict of interest. In fact, you should never allow the same company performing remediation or abatement services to also perform testing.
